Do artists make bad art?

The answer to that is Yes. I think it is the same for all artists, yes sometimes our work is far from perfect. In fact sometimes it just looks bad. When that happens I put it away and know that it will be ok. I will come back to it and know just what to do to improve it, some times after hours or days, or I might have to leave it for a long time before I get an idea to change it. I recently read an article from an artist who wrote about it as art is alive and ever evolving. That is true, I could just add a little here or change that until I am happy with it. There are pieces that just flow and work out early in the process. Then there are some pieces that are very frustrating when it doesnt turn out how I want it, and cant seem to get it right.

How did you learn to paint like that? is a question I have heard many times. Well I have painted enough paintings to have lost count. It is fun to see and old painting and right away I remember the feeling and time period where I painted it. I have heard artists talk about their art as their babies, well I can relate, it is very nice to know where the artwork is and it is hanging in a good place.

It is like many other things in life that you get better with practice. There are no failures and nothing is wrong in painting, but sometimes I learn a new way, a little detail, or a colour combination that works better.

I am going to show some of my art that has not worked out. Anyway, maybe someone else like it even if I dont. I am just painting and my taste is different to yours. Who am I to decide what is good and bad art. A matter of taste in my opinion.

I am planning to do some painting on video and post it online, it is meant to be as inspiration to paint and learn with me. I have painted for a long time, and my art has changed a lot over the years. I think it will be fun and hopefully also fun to watch.
